Use our Funnels to examine your visitors' progression through one of your flows. You can answer questions like: Of the people who did X, how many of continued and did Y? And how many of those people continued and did Z?
Example: Show me the people who Visited Site -> Signed Up For Trial -> Upgraded in the last month.
Funnels are located among your account's reports. Or, jump into creating a new funnel by following this link.
At the top of each funnel, you can name the report to refer to it in the future. You can also set the date range to report on. You can pick from a few quick date ranges:
Of course, you are still free to pick a specific date range.

Notice in the screenshot, there is a checkbox to see the people who entered the funnel after the initial step. We'll get to that in the next section, The Results.
After you run the report, we show you the number of people who did the events of the funnel in order. The person could have done the events across multiple browsing sessions, as long as they did the events in order during the date range of your report. We also show the intermediary and overall conversion rates.

You might want to see the number of times each event was done, rather than the number of people. This is an option when you further segment your funnels with properties.
However, if you want to include people who did the events out of order, or skipped steps, that's where the checkbox from above comes in.
Let's see how this works with an example funnel that has five steps: Event 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> 5
Someone does steps 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4
Someone does steps 1 -> 2 -> 4 -> 5
Without the checkbox, we show that they did 1 -> 2, and that's it. Since they skipped step 3, they are not counted as having done the entire funnel.
With the checkbox (show those who skipped steps), we show that they did 1 -> 2 and then also 4 -> 5.
Someone does steps 1 -> 2 -> 5 -> 4
Without the checkbox, we show that they did 1 -> 2.
With the checkbox, we show that they did 1 -> 2 -> 4. They didn't do step 5 after step 4, and we are looking for event completion in chronological order.
Someone does steps 1 -> 2 -> 4 -> 3 -> 5
1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 5. This is similar to the example above, where we try to look for each next step in chronological order. That is, after step 2, we look for the next time the person did step 3. And then after step 3, the next time the person did step 4, and so on.Below the events in the funnel, you can select any of your KISSmetrics properties to segment your funnel even further.
